Love is in the air!

Valentine's Day is on the horizon! The day of love, romance and schmoopy goodness. It's a well known fact that monsters love love so they've decided to celebrate the entire month!
Fremly is having a great time spoiling his lady love!
Irry is shy around pretty monsters so he thought if he dressed up he could finally talk to his crush. He couldn't quite figure out how to tie his tie (especially with his monster thumbs) so he decided to use it as a head band as well. Silly Irry!
Gibbon loves his Hootbot but didn't know what robot owls like so he decided to give him his favourite treat (a little pile of macaroni)!
We're still at the Old Strathcona Farmers Market and have a nice big spot right by the front door. There will be lots of monsters to choose from so you can find the perfect one to give your Valentine! yay!
Have a great weekend!

Meet Randolf Barksly!

Gibbon would like to introduce you to his new buddy Randolf Barksly. Randolf is a monster on a special mission, he will be going to the Pet Expo this weekend to be part of a silent auction (he's very excited!!)
He was donated to H.A.R.T (human animal rescue team), a great organization that rescues unwanted, abandoned and stray dogs around Edmonton. All proceeds from the auction will go to H.A.R.T and all the animals they find forever homes for! yay!
Randolf measures 2 feet tall and is made from upcycled upholstery fabric samples. He's not meant as a pet toy but he loves pups (as long as he's looking at them from a safe place!). He's extremely excited to be part of the expo and hopes lots of people come by and say Hi!

Market Tomorrow!

I'm sitting here eating some pita and tzatziki and procrastinating starting on the sewing machine. Mr. Walter is beside me on the couch enjoying his new chew (although he does periodically stretch his head my way to get a bit of pita!). I have to get crackin' though because I need to sew a few big monsters for the Old Strathcona Farmers Market tomorrow. Yay! We'll be there every Saturday in January and February (and hopefully March and April too.....my fingers are crossed!) I'm going to take an assortment down to Carbon Environmental Boutique on Monday, so if you need monster and can't make to the market there will be some $30 ones there. I'm also working on a special monster which is being donated to HART for their silent auction at the upcoming Pet Expo (very exciting!).
So now that I'm full, gotten the blog up to date and the dog is occupied it's time to get to work....
Have a great weekend!

Merry Christmas!

Well, It's Christmas. The presents have been unwrapped, the turkey is in the oven and I just had a delightful cran-apple martini. I must say it has been a wonderful day!
This is Fremly's favourite time of the year and he celebrated by climbing in a stocking for an afternoon nap with his buddy Giles.
Of course first they had to raid the box of Toffifees (it's a little known fact that no monster can resist the combination of chocolate, caramel, hazelnut and nougat..yum!)
Little Walter enjoyed his first Christmas. He got a new collar and a stocking full of treats. He also got to meet his grandparents for the first time and is completely smitten with them. He even tolerated his Christmas jacket although I must admit I did get a few dirty looks when I first put it on :)
I was a little worried when my parents flew in on Monday from Victoria. They'd forgotten about the crazy cold winters that the rest of Canada succumbs to. Luckily today was a balmy -10c and the sun was shining brightly. It was the perfect wintery Christmas morning!

I hope you all have been having a great day as well! We're taking a few days off to relax before the sewing begins again on Dec.28 and we'll be back again at the Old Strathcona Farmers Market on January.2 ! Yay!

One more Saturday to go!

I just received my confirmation last night regarding a space at the Old Strathcona Farmers Market. I'm so happy that I'll get one more busy Saturday in before Christmas. Of course after the amazing weekend that just passed by I'm a wee bit panicky because we started yesterday with zero stock (zero...aaaaaaack!). So there is going to be one more week of crazy sewing frenzy and then I can relax with a glass of rum & eggnog and some holiday cookies (yum!). We also have the last Salisbury Greenhouse Farmers Market this Thursday. I heard that Santa might be there so Fremly has gotten very excited! He decided to show his joy by having a frolic outside.
It's a little known fact that monsters are afraid of the snow. They haven't figured out the endless possibilities of fun you can have, and they also tend to sink in it. Poor little guys.
Luckily Fremly has some friends that are experts in this department so he took some advice from Little Walter and the Bumble
After getting dug out and playing the new games he learnt he is now an official fan of winter (as long as there is a warm fire and mug of hot cocoa waiting inside for him!)
Well, back to sewing now!
Have a great week everyone!

Thank You Edmonton!

What a fantastic weekend! I knew it was going to be a little chilly, but when we read that Edmonton was the coldest place in North America yesterday it was a little shocking (hmmm.... -46c at the airport. Crazy!). When it's that frigidly cold and you're set up at a craft show you never know how you'll do. Luckily Edmontonians are very tough and love to shop!
It turned out to be one of my best shows ever! I sold out Saturday afternoon and had to sew some more for today. They lasted until 2:00pm and then I was completely finished and was allowed to pack up and go home. I was amazed by the sales and the kind words of the people that came by. Thank you so much to everyone that adopted a monster, I appreciate it so much :)
It was the last big show of the season but we still have a few more farmers markets in the next 10 days so the sewing hasn't stopped yet.
Little Walter hasn't been very happy with the cold weather. He may be wooly but his little paws are just too delicate. He runs outside for a pee and then runs back in right away. This means he hasn't had his usual 2 walks a day for the past week. We had to get him winterized and although he may not look very happy in the photo he was overjoyed to be given a bit of a walk. Gotta love the Muttlucks! He didn't even try to pull them off and eat them . Yay!
Now that we are home, unpacked from the show and full of pizza, I think I'm ready for a nap!

Have a great rest of the weekend!

Make It! Woo-Hoo!

Well, it's cold. Very cold. There is an arctic thingy hanging out over our fair city of Edmonton and it's only going to get chillier over the next few days. I believe tomorrow is there is supposed to be a low of -38c. brrrrr......
Buuut...... I think the best way to warm up is a little bit of retail therapy, and this weekend will be the bestest way to do that. "Make It Edmonton" starts this afternoon at 4pm. There will be 115 amazing vendors selling their awesome bits of goodness. We'll be there with a table full of monsters. I didn't quite get to the 150 mark but we were very busy and got pretty close. We also dropped off 20 $30 monsters down at Carbon Environmental Boutique. So if you can't make it to the show this weekend there is still a chance to get a monster before Christmas.
Well, I have a ton of work to finish before we head over to the show to set up in 4 hours!
Have a great weekend!
