Oh! it's been a sweltering week!

Hello!! It's been a while since my last post (I'm a bad blogger I know :) but this week was a little nutty...in a good way of course. It was also very exciting! Last Sunday we packed up the car, the pup and good ol' Fremly and drove 12 hours to the Okanagan. It wasn't really a vacation  because we had a mission, a very important one! You see we moved away from Vancouver in April of 2007 and when we arrived in Vernon we put all of our belongings in a 10'x20' storage locker. We stayed there for the summer, travelled to New Zealand in the fall and finally made our way to Edmonton the following January. Then things got busy...really busy. Because of this we never had a chance to get all of our belongings until now! So finally after over 2 years we rented a truck and got our stuff! yay! It's been crazy trying to sew surrounded by a wall of rubber maid containers but I must admit its a lot like Christmas as I keep finding things I totally forgot about (like my 90's vinyl party clothes...hmmm I don't think I can get away with blue plastic capri pants anymore! lol!)
Fremly had a wonderful time and sat comfortably in the centre console on the long drive. As long as he has his fritter and iced cap he's a happy monster!
He was also very proud of little Walter. A 12 hour drive for a 4 month old puppy is quite the ordeal but he was excellent and slept for 11 of those hours in each direction. Every stop he'd get up, have a pee, eat something and then curl up till the next break. Thank goodness.
We made sure to stop in Jasper which was amazing. It's one of my favorite drives and is ridiculously beautiful. I told my fella that we needed to unload the truck right there and never leave!
We had a lot of work to do but we did get a chance to have some fun (that's the most important thing right??) We visited family, checked out the 1c slot machines at the new casino and took Walter for his first swim. He looks a little miserable in the photo but he had fun and it kept him cool in the 39 degree heat.
So now we're back and getting into a routine again. We have no shows (other then the 2 weekly farmers markets) until the big One Of A Kind in Vancouver in October (which I should have started to accumulate stock for months ago but haven't and I'm a wee bit stressed about it :) 9 weeks and 250-350 extra monsters to go. aaack. I really need to get off the computer and start sewing!
I hope you are all having a good weekend!! Talk to you again soon!
